About Us
A very warm welcome to Brenzett C.E Primary School, set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside. We are a small, flourishing school in the Romney Marsh area which was described in our recent SIAMS inspection as a place where “friendship flows, with adults and pupils welcomed, accepted and celebrated.” Our vision is that all of our pupils are able to reach their full potential as learners and as individuals, with a whole-child approach that provides academic, social, emotional, creative and spiritual opportunities for development. Our SIAMS inspector noted that: “The curriculum is carefully planned to be purposeful, nurturing and inspiring, championing success for all pupils as unique individuals” and reported that: “Parents commend the school for its vision, which impacts positively on their children, helping them on their journey to adulthood. Pupils are transformed as a result of the whole school team’s commitment and compassion.”
We are a church school which aims to equip pupils with the kindness, compassion and tolerance needed to be successful global citizens in a diverse world. This means respecting and valuing the beliefs and values of other people whether they have a religious background or not. We offer an exciting calendar of cultural events here at Brenzett which includes trips, visits and immersion days so that pupils can imagine what life is like in different cultures, places and times. Please read our Newsletters and visit our class pages and the Latest News section to find out more about our recent enrichments.
Any parent has the right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship and Religious Education. Please speak to the Headteacher if you have any questions about this.
Who we are
Brenzett is a Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School, for children aged 4 to 11. We are a co-educational day school which serves the Romney Marsh area south of Ashford. We have 4 classes – Acorns, Cherries, Willow and Oak – and are blessed with spacious grounds including a playground, field and our own on-site Forest School.
We are proud to be one of sixteen thriving schools in the Diocese of Canterbury's Academy Trust (Aquila) who work together to provide a high quality of education for our pupils. Our acts or worship reflect Anglican beliefs, practices and values and we strive to maintain a distinctive Christian ethos and feel to our school.
The teaching staff currently comprises 4 teachers in addition to the Head Teacher. There is also an experienced team of teaching assistants working alongside the teachers, including Higher Level Teaching Assistants, as well as a Family Liaison Officer (FLO) and a part-time Special Education Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO). All of our staff are deeply committed to providing a nurturing and welcoming school environment for our pupils with a rich, broad and engaging curriculum.
Our maximum number of children on roll is 140. Children remain in the school until they are 11. After this, the majority transfer to one of the local Secondary schools for their secondary education. The school actively works with parents to ensure the smoothest possible transition to secondary education. Parents are offered information sessions to assist in their choice of secondary education.
Brenzett CEP School is proud to be an active member of Aquila. To find out more about the Trust, visit their website www.aquilatrust.co.uk
